DUBAI, April 9. /TASS/. Medical teams have recovered at least 381 dead bodies near Al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza, Al Jazeera reports.
According to the broadcaster, medics continue to search for missing persons following the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the medical complex.
The Israeli military announced an end to its operation in the Al-Shifa Hospital area on April 1. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that the facility had turned into the central terrorist headquarters of the Palestinian movement Hamas. According to him, over the course of the operation, the military eliminated over 200 armed radicals. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), in turn, said that troops were not causing any harm to civilians, including patients and medical workers. However, according to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), 21 patients have died at Al-Shifa Hospital since March 18. The Palestinian Health Ministry slammed the Israeli operation at the medical facility as a violation of international humanitarian law.
