Gabriela Sommerfeld did not inform, how Jorge Glas could leave the country
HAVANA, April 7. /TASS/. Ecuadorian police stormed the Embassy of Mexico in Quito to arrest ex-vice president of the Ecuador Jorge Glas sheltering there because of the hypothetical possibility of the politician’s flight from the country, Foreign Minister of Ecuador Gabriela Sommerfeld said.
"The real risk existed for the flight of the citizen wanted by justice authorities," Sommerfeld sad. The minister did not inform, how Glas could leave the country.
On Friday evening local time, Ecuadorian police stormed the Mexican Embassy in Quito and arrested former Ecuadorian Vice President Jorge Glas, who was hiding there and was granted political asylum by the Mexican authorities. Mexico announced severance of diplomatic relations with Ecuador.
