Iranian forces say they neutralized 18 militants with links to foreign intelligence

DUBAI, April 4. /TASS/. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it conducted a counterterrorism operation in the country’s southeast, killing 18 militants.
"During this operation 18 armed terrorists were killed. On the side of law enforcement agencies, 10 people were killed and several more suffered wounds," the IRSC said in a statement, the IRNA news agency reported.
IRGC forces teamed up with the police to conduct the operation in the Sistan and Baluchestan province, according to the statement. The IRGC said the terrorists had links to foreign intelligence services.
Iran’s Deputy Interior Minister Majid Mirahmadi earlier said in comments to the Young Journalists Club news agency that security forces had also detained two foreigners who were associates of the militants.
Overnight into Thursday, terrorists carried out several attacks on police and military facilities in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province. According to Iranian authorities, responsibility for the attack was claimed by the terrorist group Jaish al-Zulm, an Islamist militant organization operating mainly in southeastern Iran, along a porous border with Afghanistan and Pakistan.
