UNITED NATIONS, April 1. /TASS/. The United Nations is very concerned about reports of an Israeli airstrike on the Iranian embassy in the Syrian capital, Stephane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the UN secretary general, said.

"We're obviously very concerned by these reports, but we'll wait to get a bit more information to opine so to follow up first if it turns out to be true," he told reporters, when asked to comment on the Israeli attack.

"Attacks from the outside on any country or violation of sovereignty we have condemned," Dujarric added.

Earlier, the Israeli Air Force carried out three missile strikes on the Mezzeh neighborhood of Damascus, home to the Iranian embassy and the villas where advisors from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) live. According to the Al Hadath TV channel, at least six people were killed. General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior IRGC commander in charge of relations with the Hezbollah Shia militia, as well as with Lebanese and Palestinian organizations, is believed to be one of the dead.
