Israel delivers strikes on 80 targets in Gaza Strip — IDF
Over the past 24 hours, Israeli troops eliminated over 15 radicals in central Gaza
TEL AVIV, March 31. /TASS/. Israel’s air force has delivered strikes on approximately 80 targets in the Gaza Strip over the past day with ground units continuing to operate in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital in the northern part of the embattled enclave, the press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.
According to it, the targets included "military compounds, compounds in which Hamas terrorists were located, and additional terrorist infrastructure."
Additionally, over the past 24 hours, Israeli troops eliminated over 15 radicals in central Gaza. The press service added that several groups of armed Palestinians were also eliminated in the enclave’s southern part, including in the area of Al Amal Hospital. "Several terrorist infrastructure sites were dismantled, including sites from which launches were carried out at IDF troops," the Israeli army press service said.
Israel’s ground troops and security structures continue operations in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital, "preventing harm to civilians, patients, and medical teams," the army press service noted. "Over the past day, the IDF eliminated terrorists barricaded in the area in close-quarters combat and located weapons in the area of the hospital," the IDF said.
Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7, 2023, when militants from the Gaza-based Palestinian radical group Hamas staged a surprise incursion into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip. Hamas described its attack as a response to the aggressive actions of Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. In response, Israel has declared a state of war readiness; announced a total blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to 2.3 million Palestinians; and began delivering air strikes on the enclave and certain parts of Lebanon and Syria, followed by a ground operation in the enclave. Clashes are underway in the West Bank as well.
