According to Mohammad Nazzal, the "military escalation in Gaza will not help bringing back Israeli hostages"
CAIRO, March 28. /TASS/. The negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip that took place in the Qatari capital city of Doha reached an impasse because of Israel’s position, Hamas politburo member Mohammad Nazzal said.
"The latest round of negotiations in Doha has not led to mutual understanding, despite the efforts of the mediators. As a result, the consultations have reached an impasse because of Israel’s intransigent position," he said, according to Al Jazeera.
Nazzal also stated his certainty that the "military escalation in Gaza will not help bringing back Israeli hostages," and underscored that "[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s threats of an operation in Rafah do not scare" Hamas supporters.
