Ukrainian army loses at least seven of ten Swedish-donated tanks
The media outlet points out that the Ukrainians plan to send three tanks to Lithuania for repairs
NEW YORK, March 27. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces have lost at least seven of the ten Strv 122 tanks donated by Sweden, Forbes magazine writes.
According to the media outlet, "in several months of hard fighting, the 21st Brigade - Ukraine’s unique ‘Swedish brigade’ that mostly operates vehicles from <...> Sweden - lost at least seven of its ten ex-Swedish Strv 122 tanks, which are variants of the German Leopard 2A5."
Forbes points out that the Ukrainians plan to send three tanks to Lithuania for repairs. However, "a desperate shortage of spare parts for German-designed tanks means it typically takes workers months to repair a battle-damaged Strv 122 or Leopard 2."
Since February 2022, Sweden has allocated about 37 bln kronas ($3.58 bln) in support to Ukraine.
