Former top French defense official urges 'not to provoke Russia'
Herve Morin said that Russia is "a nuclear power that possesses both strategic and tactical weapons"
PARIS, March 27. /TASS/. Herve Morin, former French Defense Minister under President Nicolas Sarkozy, said that France has a small stockpile of ammunition and urged "not to provoke Russia."
"We have a very small stock of missiles and ammunition because of our defense model, which is based on preparing for expeditionary operations," he told Le Point in an interview.
According to him, the French army has enough potential for actions "on the territory of Africa." "For everything else, we have our nuclear deterrence forces, as well as our NATO membership," Morin added.
At the same time, the former top defense official emphasized that "provoking Russia is useless and dangerous, because it is a nuclear power that possesses both strategic and tactical weapons."
