France's former defense minister criticizes Macron for his statements on Ukraine
Herve Morin warned that such statements could lead to the "isolation of France"
PARIS, March 27. /TASS/. Herve Morin, who served as France’s defense minister under President Nicolas Sarkozy, has criticized statements by the current French leader, Emmanuel Macron, on the issue of supporting Ukraine.
"These are provocations this infant ruler has been making since the first days of his mandate," Morin told Le Point newspaper, while commenting on Macron's statements regarding the possibility of sending military personnel to Ukraine.
He warned that such statements could lead to the "isolation of France."
On February 26, the French leader said that at a meeting in Paris, where representatives of about 20 Western states were discussing further support for Kiev in the conflict with Moscow, the possibility of sending ground troops to Ukraine was raised. He said the participants failed to reach a consensus, but such a scenario could not be ruled out in the future. Later, he explained that "not ruling something out does not mean doing it."
