CAIRO, March 25. /TASS/. The Palestinian Hamas movement is ready to exchange hostages held in Gaza for Palestinian prisoners taking following the UN Security Council resolution's on a ceasefire in the enclave.
The movement published a corresponding statement on its official Telegram channel.
"Hamas welcomes the UN Security Council's call for an immediate ceasefire and emphasizes the need to implement a permanent ceasefire, withdraw all Israeli troops from Gaza and return displaced persons to their places of residence. We affirm that we are ready to participate immediately in a prisoner exchange that will lead to the release of hostages and Palestinian prisoners," the document said. Hamas also called on the Security Council "to pressure Israel to honor the ceasefire resolution and end the war," and thanked the countries that participated in drafting the resolution "for supporting the Palestinian people."
