March 24 declared as day of mourning in Abkhazia

SUKHUM, March 24. /TASS/. President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania declared March 24 the mourning day in the country due to the terrorist act in the Crocus City Hall in the Moscow Region, the press service of the head of state said.
"In a show of solidarity with the Russian Federation, March 24, 2024 was declared the day of mourning in the Republic of Abkhazia in connection with the terrorist act in the Crocus City Hall," the press service informed.
State flags of Abkhazia will be lowered all over the country on the day of mourning, it added.
On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack targeted the Crocus City Hall music venue in the city of Krasnogorsk near Moscow. The Russian Investigative Committee said that the death toll is 133, but may increase. According to the Russian Health Ministry, 147 people were injured. Eleven suspects involved in the terrorist attack have been apprehended, including four hitmen who were trying to make off heading towards the Ukrainian border. President Vladimir Putin said in a televised address that, according to preliminary information, the Ukrainian side had been preparing ‘a gap’ in the border for the terrorists to cross it. He vowed to identify and hold to account all those behind the attack on the Crocus City Hall and declared March 24 a day of nationwide mourning.
