Ukraine reports emergency power outages in several regions
According to the regional authorities, over 110,000 residents of the Poltava Region will be disconnected "to balance the power grid"
MOSCOW, March 22. /TASS/. Emergency power outages are taking place in a number of Ukrainian regions after reports of damage to power generating facilities, the Ukrainian energy holding DTEK and regional authorities reported.
According to the energy holding, emergency outages are being carried out in the Dnepropetrovsk Region and in the Kiev-controlled areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic, and "stabilization outages" are taking place in the Odessa Region.
According to the regional authorities, over 110,000 residents of the Poltava Region will be disconnected "to balance the power grid." In the Sumy Region, emergency cut-off plans will be implemented in several districts.
Earlier, the Ukrainian authorities reported damage to several large Ukrainian thermal power plants and a fire at the Dnieper hydroelectric power plant.
