Russian presidential election held in full compliance with law — CSTO PA mission
The coordinator of the monitoring mission emphasized that the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly observers had visited several polling stations and said that the elections had been held "freely, secretly; voter balloting was safeguarded"
MOSCOW, March 18. /TASS/. The Russian presidential election was conducted in full accordance with the Constitution and election legislation, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) said.
"In conclusion, I’d like to say that our mission has also pointed out that the election of the Russian president was held in full accordance with the Russian Constitution, as well as election legislation and the standards that Russia espouses," Snezhanna Imasheva, the coordinator of the CSTO PA monitoring mission, said.
She emphasized that the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly observers had visited several polling stations and said that the elections had been held "freely, secretly; voter balloting was safeguarded."
In addition, Imasheva lauded Russia’s Central Election Commission for holding a successful election. "We saw a very high level of voter activity at every polling station. Very good conditions were created both for national observers and for us, international observers," she stressed. "I would like to pay special attention to online monitoring. All polling stations were under video surveillance, which generally ensures the transparency of the election process," she added.
