President of Nicaragua congratulates Putin on election victory

HAVANA, March 18. /TASS/. The president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, congratulated Russia’s incumbent President Vladimir Putin on victory in the 2024 presidential election.
With more than 90% of ballots counted, Putin leads the presidential race with 87.21%, according to the Russian Central Election Commission.
"During the time of instability and violence in the world; amid the need for peace, accord and joy, we mark his triumph as a contribution into the much-needed stability of the humankind, necessary for shaping our future in better environment," the president said in a statement, published by the 19digital news portal.
"We congratulate him on holding exemplary and calm elections in this vast friendly nation," the Nicaraguan leader addressed Putin in a joint statement with first lady and Vice President Rosario Murillo.
"Our best wishes of health and victories go to you," they said, also wishing Putin "many victories for your nation," and "peace on the entire planet.".
