Ukrainian blogger says wants to ask Russian services to probe into assassination attempt
On March 6, Anatoly Shariy claimed that he and his wife were a target of an assassination attempt, when his car came under fire from a silencer-mounted submachine gun
MOSCOW, March 12. /TASS/. Ukrainian blogger Anatoly Shariy, who claims to have been a target of an assassination attempt in Spain, has said that he plans to ask Russian special services to investigate the incident.
"Information I have as of today gives grounds to ask Russian special services to conduct a thorough investigation and properly respond to the situation around the assassination attempt in Spain," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Shariy, he is ready to share everything he knows about the incident with Russian special services. He once again accused Spanish police of being unwilling to probe into it. However, in his words, he plans to share information about the assassination attempt with "Spain’s special service" on March 13.
Earlier, he said that the assassination attempt could have been organized by Ukrainian services in a way to present it as "actions by Russian special services."
On March 6, Shariy claimed that he and his wife were a target of an assassination attempt, when his car came under fire from a silencer-mounted submachine gun. He accused Spanish police of doing nothing to investigate the incident, saying that only his personal security service is collecting evidence. Meanwhile, neither the Spanish National Police nor Catalonian law enforcement agencies have officially confirmed the incident.
Shariy has been living in Spain for several years. He is wanted by Ukraine and faces a life sentence there on high treason charges.
