US does not care about Ukraine, but about its geostrategic plans — Chinese diplomat
Spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wang Wenbin noted that the military conflict in Ukraine could escalate and expand to other countries
BEIJING, March 12. /TASS/. Washington is not concerned with Ukraine's fate, US officials are solely focused on achieving their geopolitical objectives, spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wang Wenbin said during a briefing.
"[Burns'] remarks show that the US is not really concerned about Ukraine, they seek to exploit the Ukrainian crisis to achieve its own geostrategic goals," the diplomat said answering a question from TASS about CIA chief William Burns' comments about controlling China in Asia through helping Kiev.
He noted that the military conflict in Ukraine could escalate and expand to other countries. According to the diplomat, China genuinely hopes that all relevant parties would show political will, encourage de-escalation, and work together to quickly reach a ceasefire and create a balanced, effective, and sustainable European security framework.
