CAIRO, March 7. /TASS/. Participants in multilateral negotiations on resolving the situation in the Gaza Strip and working toward a potential ceasefire have not made any major progress so far, according to the Ash-Sharq television.
Mediated talks currently underway in the Egyptian capital between the conflicting parties have yielded "no tangible results," the TV channel said, as an unsurmountable gap remains between the Palestinian movement Hamas and Israel.

According to the sources, Israel was expected to give an answer to Hamas’ proposals to set a timeframe for the Jewish state to present its vision of the situation in order to complete the talks.
The talks on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip have been held in Cairo since March 3. The Israeli delegation in not taking part in this round of negotiations. The Egyptian television channel Al-Ghad reported on March 4, citing a source, that the parties had reached a "serious progress" on the first day of consultations in Cairo and wanted to arrive at an agreement on the ceasefire before the Holy Month of Ramadan, i.e. before March 11.
