BUDAPEST, March 5. /TASS/. Hungarian President Tamas Sulyok has signed the bill that approved Sweden’s accession to NATO, the president’s office reported.
It said the Hungarian parliament voted to ratify Sweden’s NATO bid on February 26.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that a flag-raising ceremony of Sweden at NATO’s headquarters, scheduled for March 1, would be postponed because Hungary's new president had to sign Sweden’s membership ratification. The Hungarian parliament elected Sulyok to be the next president on the same day it approved Sweden’s NATO bid.
