Military status of Ukrainian conflict develops in Russia’s favor, Hungarian PM Orban says
"Most Western European countries, believe that time is on the side of the West and that if the war continues, more favorable positions can be reached" to start negotiations, he noted
BUDAPEST, March 4. /TASS/. In the conflict in Ukraine time is not on the West’s side, as the military situation on the ground is trending in Russia's favor, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.
"A year ago, the military situation was not as evident as it is now. Now it is absolutely clear that the balance is tipping in favor of Russia," the prime minister said at a conference organized by the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Budapest.
"Most Western European countries, unfortunately, believe that time is on the side of the West and that if the war continues, more favorable positions can be reached" to start negotiations, he noted. "This issue is being actively debated in Europe, and Hungary is one of the few countries that think otherwise," Orban said.
