China ready to contribute further to peace talks’ development between Russia, Ukraine
The Chinese diplomat Li Hui said "history shows that any conflict must ultimately be resolved through negotiations"
BEIJING, March 3. /TASS/. China is ready to keep exerting efforts in order to promote the further development of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, a senior Chinese diplomat said on Sunday.
"China is willing to maintain its efforts aimed at mediating and promoting peace talks between Russia, Ukraine and other involved parties, to reach a consensus that paves the way to the final political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis," Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs Li Hui said during his meeting in Moscow with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.
The Chinese diplomat stressed "history shows that any conflict must ultimately be resolved through negotiations, and the more acute the contradictions, the greater the need for opening a dialogue."
On March 2, Li launched his second tour aiming to seek ways to settle the Ukrainian conflict. It is expected that, in addition to Russia, he will visit the EU headquarters, Poland, Ukraine, Germany and France. The previous tour took place in May 2023.
