Carlson ignorant of many Russian realities, but no one tried to 'convert' him — Kremlin
Dmitry Peskov added that the American journalist "strongly disagrees" with many things in Russia
MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. US journalist Tucker Carlson, who interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin, does not understand many things about Russia, but there were no attempts to "converted him to our faith," Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media while commenting on Carlson's remarks about the denazification of Ukraine.
"Tucker Carlson is an American journalist, he has his own worldview, he strongly disagrees with very, very many things in our country," Peskov said. "He's an American, he doesn't understand many things, but he listens. In this respect he is different from others," Peskov stated. Earlier, Carlson remarked that the denazification of Ukraine, which Putin talked about during the interview, was "one of the dumbest things."
"The very fact that he (Carlson - TASS) interviewed Putin, of course, does not mean that someone was trying to convert him. That would’ve been silly. No one had such intentions," Peskov remarked.
In his opinion, Carlson's favorable distinction is "he is eager to listen to different points of view and bring them to his listeners and viewers."
