Armenia never expected CSTO’s military interference in conflict with Azerbaijan
"It was important for us to realize the zone of the CSTO responsibility in Armenia and in the South Caucasus," Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan added
YEREVAN, February 28. /TASS/. Yerevan never expected the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to intervene in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict as it was expecting the organization to come up with its political stance regarding the conflict, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Wednesday.
"I want to draw attention to the very important issue," Pashinyan said. "Armenia never expected CSTO’s military participation. Let no one get the impression that we tried to drag this organization into the war."
"We were expecting a political stance in the first place. It was important for us to realize the zone of the CSTO responsibility in Armenia and in the South Caucasus," he continued.
"If we had a clear-cut answer, than no further questions were to be asked because proper mechanisms would have been put into operation," Pashinyan added.
