Radiation levels at Zaporozhye NPP normal — Russian agency
The Federal Medical-Biological Agency has been offering sanitary and epidemiological services to the residents of the city of Energodar and ZNPP employees since June 2023
MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. The radiation level around the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) is within acceptable levels, Russia’s Federal Medical-Biological Agency told TASS.
"Daily monitoring indicates that radiation stays within the background level," it said.
Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi said on February 21 that the ZNPP had lost connection to its last back-up external power line, thus revealing the fragility of the nuclear safety situation at the facility. According to the IAEA chief, IAEA experts were informed that the 330 kilovolt (kV) line was disconnected last Tuesday due to problems on the Ukrainian side.
