New US Army publication addresses Russia’s tactics, military doctrine
The publication titled "Do you know your enemy?" was released on the US Army’s social media
WASHINGTON, February 27. /TASS/. The US Army has published a description of Russian military tactics in the event of a large-scale conflict, without focusing on the special military operation in Ukraine.
The 280-page document describes "Russian tactics for use in Army training, professional education, and leader development." Army Techniques Publication (ATP) 7-100.1 addresses the Russian military doctrine "with a focus on army ground forces and tactical operations in offense, defense, and related mission sets" and "addresses the tactics, organization, and activities of the Russian military." The document uses "Russian tactical concepts employed in training and exercises, primarily for large-scale combat operations," the US military said.
However, the authors of the latest volume emphasized, it is not meant to reflect how the Russian forces are fighting in Ukraine, as "it is too early to acknowledge any definitive changes in the doctrine."
