West fails to unite world to counter Russia — Polish general
Roman Polko emphasized that Moscow is effectively using diplomacy to promote its position in the international arena, including in Latin America
MOSCOW, February 26. /TASS/. Western countries have failed to bring the world majority, especially Latin American and African nations, over to their side on the conflict in Ukraine amid Russia's diplomatic successes, former commander of a Polish Special Forces unit Gen. Roman Polko told the PAP news agency.
"The West fails to unite members of international organizations and the UN into a single front [to support Ukraine]," he said. The general emphasized that Moscow is effectively using diplomacy to promote its position in the international arena, including in Latin America, citing Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s recent trip to Brazil as an example.
Earlier, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that the West was trying by all means to involve the global majority countries in its intrigues in Ukraine, but it was clear to them that it was pointless to discuss anything without Russia's participation.
