NEW YORK, February 25. /TASS/. US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director William Burns secretly visited Ukraine last Thursday, The New York Times (NYT) said.
According to the newspaper, Burns’ visit, the tenth one since the beginning of the conflict in February 2022, was geared to reassure the Ukrainian leadership in a situation when the House of Representatives is failing to approve additional financing to Kiev.
The US Congress has been unable to approve additional funding for Ukraine since October 2023. Dur to this, the US suspended supplies of weapons and ammunition, including artillery rounds, to Kiev iinn late December, while EU supplies fall short of what Ukraine needs.
