US facing difficulties when attempting to seize Russian assets — White House
It is complicated because these assets have been held internationally, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said
WASHINGTON, February 24. /TASS/. The US administration faces certain difficulties in attempts to ensure seizure of frozen Russian assets, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at a regular briefing for reporters.
"We are going to continue to be in active conversation with our allies and partners, including the G7 as well as members of Congress. On additional steps to cease Russia's aggression in Ukraine and to ensure Russia pays for the damage it has caused. I don't have any new announcement to make but it is a bit complicated because <...> it’s [assets] been held internationally. So it is a little bit more complicated," the press secretary said.
"I can't speak for other countries here. But I just wanted to make sure we lay it out. It is complicated, [it] is not as simple as it may seem. But I certainly don't have any new announcements to make at this time," Jean-Pierre added.
