German Cabinet names principles of arms deliveries to Ukraine
In all, Germany has so far disbursed funds or reserved future spending commitments of approximately 28 billion euros in military support for Ukraine
BERLIN, February 21. /TASS/. The German government intends to support Ukraine as much as possible under the condition that Germany does not become a warring party, Cabinet spokesman Steffen Hebestreit has told the media.
"Again, I can cite three principles: we support Ukraine as much as possible; we ensure neither Germany nor NATO become a warring party; and we coordinate closely and on the basis of trust with our partners and allies, above all with the United States," he said.
In all, Germany has so far disbursed funds or reserved future spending commitments of approximately 28 billion euros in military support for Ukraine. On February 16, during Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's visit to Berlin a bilateral agreement on security obligations was signed for 10 years. It may be prolonged. Russia has repeatedly warned that arms supplies would only cause the conflict in Ukraine last longer.
