According to the company, the cost of one set is about 50,000 euros

MOSCOW, February 19. /TASS/. Denmark-based company MyDefense supplied the Ukrainian armed forces with more than 800 wearable anti-drone protection kits in 2023, a defense industry source told TASS.

"The company has supplied more than 800 sets to Ukrainian armed formations in 2023," the source said.

He added that MyDefense, which develops and manufactures various radio electronic equipment mainly for UAV detection and countermeasures, presented a wearable drone detection and countermeasures system at the World Defense Show 2024 exhibition, which was held on February 4-8 in Riyadh.

The complex consists of Wingman 103 and Wingman 105 detectors as well as Pitbull 100 and Pitbull 101 jammers. Differences in product indices denote the option of using an additional (external) battery, which boosts operating time.

According to the company, the cost of one set (detector with active antenna and suppressor) is about 50,000 euros; the products are in demand and the manufacturer has sufficient stocks in its warehouse inventory.

According to the MyDefense materials presented at the exhibition, the Wingman series detector can detect drone control signals at 2.4, 5.2 and 5.8 GHz in the basic version, and 433, 868 and 915 MHz and 1.2 GHz with an additional (active) antenna. Detection is enabled in a radius of 60 degrees in the azimuthal plane and from 0 to 60 in the vertical plane at a distance of up to 6 km given direct radio visibility. Detection time is less than 10 seconds. Operating time for one battery is up to 14 hours. The weight of the device with the battery is 1.1 kg, and the dimensions are 244x96x42 mm.

When a UAV is detected, the device beeps and automatically sends an activation command to the Pitbull jammer.

It has similar dimensions of 243x90x60 with battery, and weighs 1.3 kg. This device provides suppression on the three main frequency bands of 2.4, 5.2 and 5.8 GHz (version 100) and 2.4, 5.2, 5.8 and 1.6 GHz (version 101). Transmitter power is 2W or less. The suppression signal propagation angles correspond to detection angles 60 in the horizontal and vertical planes. Suppression range is 1 km (for example, DJI Phantom 4 at a distance of 1.25 m from the drone operator, which is an 80% interference range). Operating time is up to 20 hours from a single battery (in standby mode). The manufacturer does not specify the operating time in active phase.
