BEIRUT, January 16. /TASS/. Israeli fighter jets attacked a Hezbollah stronghold in the Wadi Saluki area in southern Lebanon, the Al Mayadeen television channel reported.
According to Al Mayadeen, at least 30 missile strikes were delivered on Shiite positions in the area. Air raids also targeted areas near the Kfar Kila, Hula, and al-Abbsiya neighborhoods, from where mortar shells had been fired at northern Israel.
The television channel claims that this was Israel’s biggest and longest air raid since the beginning of combat operations on the Lebanese-Israeli border last October.
No details of Hezbollah’s losses or damage on the ground were provided.
At the same time. Israeli artillery fired on the hills of Meiss Ej Jabal using phosphorus-containing munitions.
Earlier on Tuesday, Hezbollah units hit an Israeli command center in Even Menachem. Hezbollah claimed that the strike was meant to demonstrate support for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and their continued resistance.
However, Israel did not confirm reports about this Hezbollah attack.
