SEOUL, January 15. /TASS/. North Korea has carried out a test launch of a solid-fuel intermediate-range ballistic missile with a hypersonic warhead on January 14, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.

"On January 14, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) Missile General Bureau performed a test launch of a solid-fuel intermediate-range ballistic missile with a hypersonic maneuverable warhead," the news agency said, adding that the launch was successful.

The test did not impact the security of neighboring countries and "had nothing to do with the situation in the region," KCNA added.

Earlier, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said that the DPRK had tested an intermediate-range ballistic missile.
