HARARE, January 14. /TASS/. The presidential election will take place in the Union of the Comoros, an island country in the southwestern part of the Indian Ocean.

The voting will start at 05:00 a.m. local time [02.00 a.m. GMT] and will end at 03:00 p.m. [GMT noontime]. Results should become known during the three coming days, La Gazette de Comores newspaper said. The second round of voting will be held on February 25 if needed.

Current head of state Azali Assoumani and about ten other politicians are running for the presidential office of the Comoros.
