HONG KONG, January 13. /TASS/. Hou You-yi, from the opposition Kuomintang (KMT) party which supported dialogue with mainland China, conceded his defeat in Taiwan’s presidential elections.

In a message televised live by the Taiwanese television channel TVBS, Hou expressed his deep apologies to his voters and congratulated election frontrunner Lai Ching-te on his looming win.
