ISTANBUL, January 11. /TASS/. The first reactor of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant (NPP) under construction in Turkey is planned to be started this year, Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said on the air with the CNN Turk television channel.
"The first reactor of the Akkuyu NPP is planned for the start in this year," the minister said.
The Akkuyu NPP is the first nuclear power plant in Turkey, which is constructed by the Russian state corporation Rosatom. The plant design comprises four power generating units with the capacity of 1,200 MW each.
