BEIRUT, January 9. /TASS/. Ali Hussein Barji, the commander of Hezbollah's aerial forces, was killed in an Israeli drone attack on southern Lebanon, the Lebanon 24 news portal reported.
According to the news portal, the man was inside a car in the village of Khirbet Selm, where hundreds of Hezbollah supporters were holding a rally in support of Wissam Tawil, a commander of Hezbollah's elite Radwan forces, who was killed in the Israeli drone attack on January 8.
The news portal also said that earlier Barji had led a rapid response force fighting on the part of the Syrian government against illegal armed groups in the Idlib governorate. In southern Lebanon he was in charge of drone launches against the Israeli army.
On January 9, several kamikaze drones attacked Israeli troop headquarters in the city of Safed located some 20 kilometers from the border with Lebanon. Several people were either killed or wounded, Hezbollah said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel.
