NEW YORK, January 4. /TASS/. The US is mulling the possibility of placing its military drones in several African countries on the Atlantic Coast to curb the spread of the Islamic State and Al Qaeda (both banned in Russia) in the region, the Wall Street Journal said citing sources.
According to the newspaper, Washington is engaged in "preliminary talks" to use airfields in Ghana, Ivory Coast and Benin.
The drones will help the US track militants’ movements and provide "tactical advice to local troops during combat operations.".
