ASTANA, January 3. /TASS/. The authorities of Kazakhstan are determined to continue a constructive and balanced foreign policy taking into account national interests, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said in an interview published in the newspaper Egemen Kazakhstan (Sovereign Kazakhstan).

"We will continue a constructive and balanced foreign policy taking into account the national interests. In 2024, our country will host a number of major summits and forums. Kazakhstan will chair several large international organizations at once: the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Collective Security Treaty Organization, Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia, Organization of Turkic States, International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, and Islamic Organization for Food Security," Tokayev said.

The World Nomad Games in Kazakhstan will be a big event. "They are important both the popularization of national sports and healthy lifestyles and for the expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties among fraternal peoples - heirs of the nomadic civilization of the Great Steppe," he explained.

Tokayev recalled that in his September message to the people of Kazakhstan he set the task of moving towards a new economic model.

"The task of doubling the GDP by 2029 was identified as a strategic goal. Soon there will be an enlarged meeting of the government, where we will review the results of socio-economic development and formulate the tactics of further action along these lines," he said.
