'Islamic Resistance in Iraq' group attacks US base at Erbil airport
Earlier, in a statement released on the Telegram channel, the Shi’i militias warned the United States that they "will increase the number of military operations in Syria and Iraq"
BEIRUT, December 27. /TASS/. The Shi’i armed group ‘Islamic Resistance in Iraq’ has claimed to have shelled the US military base deployed at Erbil International Airport (located on the outskirts of Erbil city in Iraqi Kurdistan, an autonomous region in northern Iraq), the group wrote on its Telegram channel.
It is claimed that the attack was carried out with drones. The group explained its actions by seeking to "resist the US occupation troops in Iraq and the region," as well as "to respond to the crimes committed [by Israel] against the Palestinian people in Gaza."
Earlier, in a statement released on the Telegram channel, the Shi’i militias warned the United States that they "will increase the number of military operations in Syria and Iraq, as the American adversary continues to send military aid to the Israeli military that is killing civilians in the Gaza Strip and Southern Lebanon."
