BEIRUT, December 27. /TASS/. Artillery units of the Israel Defense Forces have fired at least 250 shells towards border areas of Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Naharnet news portal reported.

At least 34 populated areas were shelled. The attacks destroyed eight houses and damaged at least 29.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah militia said two of its members were killed as a result of Israeli attacks. A rescuer of the Civil Defense Service was also killed. Five civilians were wounded.

According to the Lebanese Interior Ministry, at least 32 civilians and 128 Hezbollah members have been killed since Israeli-Lebanese tensions intensified on October 8. The number of internally displaced residents of Lebanon’s southern regions has reached 72,000.
