Israeli army looking into consequences of airstrike on refugee camp in Gaza Strip

TEL AVIV, December 25. /TASS/. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is analyzing reports about an attack on the al-Maghazi refugee camp in the Gaza Strip that killed at least 70 people on Monday morning, Reuters reported.
According to the news agency, the IDF also said that the Israeli military has been seeking to minimize civilian damage.
The Israeli airstrike on the refugee camp on Monday morning destroyed several buildings. The attack left some 70 people killed, Qatar’s television Al Jazeera said, citing the Palestinian enclave’s health officials.
Meanwhile, the death toll from an Israeli strike on a residential block in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip has risen to 23, Al Jazeera television also said, specifying that the Ma’an district in eastern Khan Yunis was attacked. According to Al Jazeera footage, there are children among those injured, they were taken to Nasser Hospital.
Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7 after Gaza Strip-based Hamas militants launched a surprise incursion on Israeli territory, killing many Israeli kibbutz residents living near the Gaza border and abducting more than 200 Israelis, including women, children and the elderly. Hamas described its attack as a response to Israeli authorities’ aggressive actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City.
