North Korea slams G7 plans to use Russian assets for aid to Ukraine as 'daylight robbery'
According to the media, the "ill-famed" United States had used "even a handful of frozen assets of Afghanistan for the settlement of its domestic problems" previously
SEOUL, December 22. /TASS/. The talk about potentially using Russia’s frozen assets in the West to aid Ukraine sheds light on the devious nature of that group of countries, KCNA news agency said in a commentary.
The North Korean state-run news agency referred to a recent report in British media (the Financial Times - TASS) saying that the Group of Seven have intensified talks about possibly using Russian assets to support Ukraine. "The Group of Seven (G7), which has come under worldwide criticism as an exclusive group disturbing international peace and the independent development of other countries at the instigation of the US, is going to commit robbery in broad daylight," KCNA said.
The "ill-famed" United States had used "even a handful of frozen assets of Afghanistan for the settlement of its domestic problems" previously, the North Korean agency wrote. In its commentary, it describes the US as the boss of a club of bandits that exists on robbery."
According to KCNA, "the rich club of the old nobles" which has "fattened itself up through interference, pressure, aggression and plunder of other countries, has found itself in such a poor position as unhesitatingly committing such evil deeds as 'banditry.'"
The situation in Ukraine has not isolated or weakened Russia, contrary to the expectations of the US-led West, while Kiev’s counteroffensive is not producing the results they had expected, the news agency continued. As a result of Russian actions, Ukraine is sustaining heavy losses in personnel and military equipment.
"Western countries, which styled themselves Ukraine's `reliable’ rear, change tack to withdraw from their bottomless support for Ukraine, stunned by Russia's great might and strategic potentials and Ukraine's huge debts," KCNA wrote. "Now there is a widespread public opinion that Ukraine will completely collapse next summer if Western support is ceased," the news agency concluded.
