Italy stands by Ukraine, decrees to extend military aid for another year

ROME, December 19. /TASS/. The Italian Council of Ministers has approved a decree-law on a one-year extension of supplies of weapons, vehicles and military materials to Ukraine, the ANSA news agency reported.
"Once again, Italy has chosen to be on the side of the freedom of nations and respect for international law, with the aim of reaching, in line with the position taken by NATO and EU allies, a just and lasting peace," the agency quoted Defense Minister Guido Crosetto as saying.
According to local media, Crosetto presented the eighth military aid package for Ukraine at a meeting of the parliamentary special committee on security on Tuesday.
In March 2022, the parliament of the republic approved a resolution to provide Ukraine with assistance, including military aid. Since then, seven inter-ministerial decrees have been issued with a list of weapons to be supplied. Information about the weapons is classified.
