BUDAPEST, December 15. /TASS/. Ukraine is not ready to join the European Union, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.
"Ukraine is not ready for EU membership. Luckily we will have many opportunities to correct the decision made yesterday," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), commenting on the EU leaders’ decision to launch EU accession talks with Ukraine. Orban opposed the decision but failed to persuade other EU leaders not to make the move.
Earlier, the Hungarian prime minister told the Kossuth radio station that the EU membership process took much time, and a final decision would require the consent of all 27 member states.
