Finland granted no asylum to any refugees arriving via Russia
According to the report, 958 persons of more than 30 nationalities who requested international protection in Finland arrived across the border with Russia in October-November
STOCKHOLM, December 13. /TASS/. The Finnish Migration Service is considering fast-tracking the applications of more than 100 asylum seekers who arrived via the border with Russia in the fall, with none being approved so far, the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper reported.
According to it, 958 persons of more than 30 nationalities who requested international protection in Finland arrived across the border with Russia in October-November, but none of them "has been approved so far." As the newspaper notes, "in total, there are over ten rejections."
Accelerated processing means that the Migration Board considers the person's application to be patently unfounded, as no grounds for international protection were provided at the time of submission. In total, more than 4,000 asylum applications are pending in Finland, and 360 different decisions were made in November, the newspaper said.
