BUDAPEST, December 12. /TASS/. The EU General Affairs Council made no decision on the beginning of accession negotiations with Ukraine during the meeting in Brussels, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, who took part in the meeting, said.
"The General Affairs Council made no decision on the beginning of accession negotiations with Ukraine today," the foreign minister told reporters after the meeting.
He noted that European affairs ministers of EU member states were unable to reach a consensus and decided to postpone this issue for the EU summit that will take place in Brussels on December 14-15.
"The idea is that, despite the initial plans, the General Affairs Council will not initiate the negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU," Szijjarto said, according to the M1 TV channel.
