Belarusian, Kenyan leaders agree to intensify bilateral relations — Lukashenko
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko invited his Kenyan counterpart William Ruto to visit his country any time the Kenyan leader deems convenient
MINSK, December 10. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Sunday that his talks with his Kenyan counterpart, William Ruto, yielded an agreement to intensify relations between their countries.
"We have decided that we will intensify our relations. So, specialists from our side and from your side should exchange visits, to learn more about the countries and outline a plan of action," the Pul Pervogo Telegram channel close to the Belarusian president’s press service said, citing Lukashenko, who is currently on a visit to Kenya.
Lukashenko invited Ruto to visit his country any time the Kenyan leader deems convenient. "I will be glad to welcome you any time. I hope you will find time to come to Minsk in the first half of the next year," he said.
During talks with Ruto on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference in Dubai in early December, Lukashenko suggested that the two countries develop a plan for bilateral cooperation. He said that for these ends he was ready to visit Kenya and concurrently invited Ruto to visit Belarus.
The Belarusian president’s press service said earlier that the country’s leader began an official visit to a number of African nations on December 9. "The visit will be a continuation of work toward establishing strong ties between Belarus and African countries," it said. On December 9 and 10, Lukashenko visited Equatorial Guinea, where he signed a roadmap for cooperation between the two states for a period from 2014 to 2026 with President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
