Yemeni Houthis vow to obstruct passage of ships going to Israel – spokesman
Unless the Gaza Strip receives the required food and medicine, such ships will become a legitimate target for our armed forces, the movement military spokesman Yahya Sarea said
DUBAI, December 9. /TASS/. The Yemeni Houthis will obstruct the passage of ships going to Israel, the movement military spokesman Yahya Sarea told the Al Masirah TV channel.
"The Yemeni armed forces state that they will obstruct the passage of ships going to the Zionist entity [Israel - TASS], regardless of what country they belong to. Unless the Gaza Strip receives the required food and medicine, such ships will become a legitimate target for our armed forces," he said.
Sarea also warned "all shipping companies from cooperating with Israeli ports."
Meanwhile, he underscored that the Houthis pose no danger for navigation in Red and Arabian seas, if these ships have nothing to do with Israel.
On December 3, the spokesman announced that the Houthis attacked Israeli ships, the Unity Explorer and the Number 9, in the Bab al-Mandab Strait using a missile and a drone. The spokesman claimed that the ships were attacked after they rejected the rebels’ warning. The movement threatens to continue attacks on Israeli ships in Red and Arabian seas until the hostilities in the Gaza Strip are over.
