The key task of COP28 is to assess the ability of the international community to reach goals set earlier, says Special Presidential Envoy for Climate Ruslan Edelgeriyev
DUBAI, December 9. /TASS/. The participants of the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) are to present an integral, realistic and inclusive vision of future climate cooperation, head of Russia’s delegation, Special Presidential Envoy for Climate Ruslan Edelgeriyev said.
"The key task of COP28 is to assess the ability of the international community to reach goals set earlier and on the basis of this assessment to present the vision of future climate cooperation. This vision should be ambitious, though integral, realistic and inclusive at the same time," he said.
"We cannot but take into consideration the variety of needs of the population in various parts of the world, including the need for available and reliable energy, water and food, as well as in a broader sense for raising the quality of life," Edelgeriyev added.
COP28 will be held until December 12.
