Israeli soldiers eliminate two high-ranking radicals in Jenin camp — IDF
According to the IDF press service, soldiers surrounded the building and then the parties exchanged fire
TEL AVIV, November 29. /TASS/. Israeli forces have eliminated two dangerous radicals, one of them a battalion commander, in a counterterrorism operation in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported.
"During a joint counterterrorism operation conducted by the IDF, the General Security Service (Shabak) and the Israel Border Police, two high-ranking terrorists were eliminated in the Jenin refugee camp, one of them the camp’s battalion commander, Mohammad Zubeidi. Zubeidi was a senior Islamic Jihad agent and one of the main terrorists in the Jenin camp," the statement said.
According to the IDF press service, "soldiers surrounded the building where Zubeidi was hiding out along with other terrorists" and then the parties exchanged fire.
"When the building was searched, the bodies of two killed terrorists, Muhammad Zubeidi and Hussam Hanon, were found, as well as three M-16 rifles and munitions they used [in the fight]," the IDF added.
