Israeli envoy not privy to details about Russians to be released by Hamas on Wednesday
According to Alexander Ben Zvi, Hamas may still be holding seven more Russians after the release of Ron Krivoi
MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. Israel’s Ambassador to Moscow Alexander Ben Zvi has no information about the Russian hostages that Hamas will allegedly release on Wednesday as a show of respect to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"We have seen this in media reports too. We have no information about this issue, since it is not going through us. It is going through Russia’s embassy in Israel, and that is why, unfortunately, we have no such information," he said in response to a question.
According to the Israeli ambassador, Hamas may still be holding seven more Russians after the release of Ron Krivoi.
Earlier on Wednesday, Moussa Abu Marzouk, a member of Hamas’ political bureau, said that the movement was planning to release several other Russians in a show of respect for the Russian president.
Earlier, Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met with the family of Ron Krivoi, a Russian citizen who had been released from the Gaza Strip. His relatives thanked the Russian Foreign Ministry for their assistance. In late October, Bogdanov told TASS that Hamas representatives had promised to meet Moscow’s request to free eight Russians being held hostage.
